We are again offering a leisure programme for accompanying partners. Please book the tours via the congress registration platform.
Friday, 14 July: Trossachs Tour (full day), 60 € / person
The area known as the Trossachs is often described as the Highlands in miniature. You will see glorious lochs, sweeping valleys and majestic mountains. Keep your eyes open too for some of Scotland‘s iconic wildlife such as highland cattle, eagles, ospreys, red squirrels and deer.
The tour will take you from Edinburgh to Stirling with its romantic castle and the National Wallace Monument and then continues into dramatic Highland scenery with mirror-like lochs and typical villages. You will stop by Loch Katerine, made famous by Sir Walter Scott as it provided the setting for his poem The Lady of the Lake (1810) and thus became a popular tourist destination of the Victorian age.
Saturday, 15 July: Edinburgh Walking Tour (half day), 20 € / person
Discover the fascinating history of the Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile. This half day walking tour takes you from the Castle Esplanade down the Royal Mile, visiting various closes off Lawnmarket. You will continue to Parliament Square and St Giles Church, pause at Tron Church and pass John Knox House, the Storytelling Centre and former Netherbow Town Gate.
The tour continues down Canongate to Holyrod, visiting closes and gardens of this area en route. On a Saturday, the guide can talke the group to Debating Chamber as Parliament will not be in session.
