Surgical Specialty Internship (Small Animal Surgery)

Description:

We are pleased to announce a Surgical Specialty Internship supervised directly by Dr. Nikola Katic Dipl. ECVS and Dr. Roxana Merca Dipl. ECVS at our advanced, multidisciplinary referral center located in beautiful Vienna, Austria.

This 12-month internship covers all areas of soft tissue surgery, orthopedics, and neurosurgery. In addition to extensive clinical practical training, the intern will actively participate in clinical rounds, journal clubs, book readings, and will be required to author a scientific paper (e.g., case report).

Additional responsibilities include participation in emergency duties and the care of in-house patients. This specialized internship is specifically designed as preparation for a surgical residency.

Our facility features state-of-the-art equipment including a dedicated surgical area with two operating rooms, on-site CT, C-arm fluoroscopy, two minimally invasive surgery towers, laser technology, NIRF technology, and more. Our highly qualified team includes two ECVS Diplomates (Surgery), two ECVAA Diplomates (Anesthesia and Pain Management), an ECVO Diplomate (Ophthalmology), and an ACVIM/ECVIM Diplomate (Internal Medicine), ensuring a comprehensive and enriching training environment.

In addition to this Surgical Specialty Internship, we offer a well-established standard ECVS Residency Program, Rotating Internships, and other specialized internships in various fields such as internal medicine, ophthalmology, imaging and anesthesia, fostering an excellent environment for professional growth and networking.

Employment Details:

• 40-hour workweek

• Gross monthly salary: €3,000

Requirements:

• Degree in Veterinary Medicine

• Completion of a rotating internship or equivalent experience

• Fluent command of the German language (spoken and written) is mandatory (see advert in German)

• Strong motivation and commitment to pursuing further specialization in veterinary surgery
