The Tierarztpraxis am Stadtpark, Vienna, Austria, is opening a 3-year ECVS Residency in Small Animal Surgery
We are a well-situated, ever growing private referral center in the heart of Vienna. We are committed to providing compassionate, progressive, evidence-based care for our patients. Our friendly team consists of a group of specialists, residents and emergency vets and a great team of technicians. We boast European diplomates in Small Animal Surgery (ECVS), Internal Medicine (ECVIM-CA) and Anaesthesia and Analgesia (ECVAA). Offered disciplines include internal medicine including medical oncology, surgery, diagnostic imaging, anaesthesia, and cardiology, with immediate plans to expand our services.
Our surgical team provides the highest level of specialist practice, handling a vast and varied caseload and regularly performing procedures such as TPLO, total hip replacements, arthroscopies, spinal surgeries and fracture repairs. Additionally, our soft tissue surgery department is rapidly growing, conducting complex oncologic cases, laparoscopies and thoracoscopies on a frequent basis amongst others and we’re offering interventional state-of-the-art procedures as well.
Our practice was enlarged in 2023, now featuring advanced technology in 4 fully equipped operating theaters, digital radiography, a 16-slice CT scanner, MRI, two fluoroscopes, arthroscopy and endoscopy equipment as well as multiple ultrasound machines.
ECVS Residency Program – starting July 2024 for 3 years
Apply for a 3-year-residency program accredited by the European College of Veterinary Surgeons (ECVS)
- You will receive direct clinical supervision from our two ECVS Diplomates
- You will gain comprehensive exposure and training in orthopedic, soft tissue and neurosurgery disciplines
- You will participate in our after-hours emergency service
- You will engage in a variety of academic activities, including journal clubs, book readings, participate in national and international conferences and AOVET courses
The Ideal Candidate
- Demonstrates exceptional communication skills
- Speaks German fluently in order to communicate with owners and colleagues (C1)
- Has a very good command of the English language (B2)
- Has successfully completed a one-year rotating Small Animal Internship or equivalent
- Is licensed to work as a vet in Austria / EU
- Has gained experience in publishing in the peer-reviewed veterinary literature, ideally in the field of small animal surgery
